Meet the founder

Angelica Founder

La Girafe Couture is a Montreal-based micro business founded by Angelica Fajardo, a Montreal fashion designer of Mexican origin.
Over the years, Angelica has evolved as a humanitarian and eco responsible talented creator as she gave sewing classes to women in need on a pro bono basis while she was a partner in a sewing atelier designing and making bridal and evening gowns. Angelica worked for over 12 years as a designer for a clothing company in Montreal.

Her passion is to create and handcraft unique pieces and she put her passion to use by creating bath robes for her toddlers, then clothing for her growing kids, followed by ice skating costumes as her kids took on this sport, as well as other unique eco-friendly products such as handkerchiefs made of organic ultra-soft cotton,  reusable coton flannel unpaper towels to replace disposable paper towels,  reusable make up remover cotton pads, beach bags, cosmetic bags, as well as reusable face masks with a touch of her own style.

Angelica puts her heart into everything she does and her passion is showing in her zero waste product handmade by herself and by unemployed and talented women at home.
Most of these seamstresses are not able to find a job or even have one at all, as some of them are retired, others have young children to care for, while others have to provide care for their elderly parents at home. Being able to work from home allows them to provide for an additional income to their family.

The attributes of the La Girafe Couture micro-business are a passion for quality, confort and style along with a dedication to contributing with a positive environmental and social impact.

Angelica's motto: work with your heart!

La Girafe Couture is proud to be affiliated with organizations supporting manufacturing of textile products locally made here in Canada.
